Morning Prayers for Family and Friends

Psalm 118:24 – Prayer for A Joyful Day

“The Lord has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad.”

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for another beautiful day, and the opportunity to experience it.

Thank You for my friends and family, who I get to pray for today.

I know that they are going through their own difficulties.

You know what has gotten them down, and you know the first thoughts on their minds even as they wake up.

I ask that You allow their hearts and minds to be filled with gratitude.

Please let any thought that does not glorify You be removed and only that which is good, lovely, and honorable fills its space.

Despite what they may be facing, or what lies ahead today, I pray that they will be able to look to You in gratitude knowing that this is the day that You have made.

Therefore, they can rejoice and be glad in it.

Please fill their cups with Your joy, and their hearts with Your love as they go about their day.

In Jesus’ name, amen.

Psalm 51:10 – A Clean Heart Before God

“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”

Good Morning,

My prayer is that God would enfold You in His loving arms today.

I pray that as You go about your day, that You will remember Him and see Him through all the areas of your life.

No matter what is going on on the outside, God sees what is happening on the inside.

That is a gracious truth, that we can know that God sees all of us, yet calls us to come to Him.

To come to Him with all our hearts, so that He can mold us and shape us into the image of His Son.

I pray that God will have your whole heart, every piece of it.

May He, according to His word, create a clean heart in you and renew a right spirit within you.

If there is anything that is lurking in the dark, and withholding you from a whole-heart surrender, I pray that He will show you.

May His kindness always bring you to repentance, and praise.

In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.

Psalm 59:16 – Give Them A New Song

“But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble.”

Lord,

I ask that You put a new song in the hearts of my family and friends.

May what they are going through seem so dim compared to who You are and what You have done for them.

If they are feeling weary or or discouraged, I ask that You will remind them to rely on Your power.

May Your word put a new hope in their hearts, and strengthen their spirit.

May they be reminded of Your mercies that are new each morning.

Please remind them of how You have carried them in the past, and fill their hope for the future.

I ask that You would be their defense, and guard their hearts and minds today.

May they look to You as their refuge and seek You in their trouble.

In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.

Matthew 6:33 – Seeking the Kingdom

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

Father,

Living in this world comes with a lot of cares.

You know what things are weighing on my friends and family’s hearts and minds today.

If there is anything that is discouraging them, I ask that You would strengthen them by Your word.

Please give them peace over situations that are giving them anxiety.

And give them direction and guidance in the areas where they are seeking clarity.

But most of all, I ask that You would set their hearts on Your kingdom.

Remind them that this life is temporary, and what we do here will carry out throughout eternity.

Please help them not to get so distracted with life that they forget to live with eternity in mind.

Help them to seek Your kingdom first and Your righteousness.

May they desire to please You above the world. And help them to live today with eternity in mind.

In Jesus’ name, amen.

James 1:5 – Asking God for Wisdom

“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”

Dear God,

I just want to lift up my family and friends to you in prayer.

Thank You for placing each of them in my life, and giving me the opportunity to pray for them today.

I ask that You would direct them as they start their day.

If there is any situation where they need clarity, I ask that You would make their path clear and show them the way.

May they seek Your word as their guide and not only be hearers of Your word but doers.

If they lack wisdom in any area of their lives, I ask that You would graciously supply them with it.

You give wisdom to all who ask, and I pray that they would ask, and receive wisdom from You.

Help them to make wise decisions and to seek counsel in uncertain times.

In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.

Psalm 143:8 – Reminder of God’s Love

“Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.”

Father in Heaven,

This morning I ask that You would be with each of my family members.

No matter what state they find themselves in, I ask that You would cause them to hear Your lovingkindness this morning.

If there are any thoughts that are opposed to Your word, I ask that Your word would drown those lies out.

May they seek Your truth, and delight in who You are. Remind them of your love.

May they place their trust in You and You alone.

Let their foundation be set on You, and hope found in You.

And lead them in the way that You desire for them to walk in.

In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.

I hope that these prayers for your family and friends will grow you in love and care for them, and be a blessing to their lives as well!
