Looking for Prayer for Saturday? Here are a few that can help.
Saturdays are the best days after you’ve experienced a busy and stressful week. It can be easy to feel as though you can take time off from everything when Saturday rolls around, but it is still as important to remember to pray for your day as you take time to recharge.
Prayer for Saturday
Prayer to Be Recharged
While you’re recharging from a long week, and trying to relax and enjoy the weekend, be sure to include some self care in your weekend.
Start with your morning routines, enjoy your favorite coffee, use your skin care and vitamin C serums, and spend some time in prayer as you relax and get ready for your day.
Matthew 11:28-29
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
Lord,
I am so tired, and I’m in desperate need of rest. This week has taken its toll on me, and all I want to do is get away from all of the noise and endless tasks.
Even when I get a day off, it feels like my mind is still working overtime. I worry about things that need to be done, and I worry about the things that aren’t in my control.
Please help me to find rest for both my mind and my both today. Help me to spend intentional time with You today.
Not time that is rushed, time that is disturbed, or time that is distracted by other things in my day or in my mind.
Help me to discern what kind of things drain me and what kind of things recharge me on my days off.
Please keep me from scrolling on my phone endlessly, or staring at a screen all day.
Help me to find things that will truly help me to feel restful, filled, and at peace.
Help me to get rid of unhealthy habits that don’t lead to real rest.
Please give me the discipline to do the things that are good for me, but that might need more effort.
Please help me to recharge and feel renewed.
In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.
Prayer for Relaxation
Weekends are a great time to relax and do things that are for yourself. Some self-care, family time, or enjoying your hobbies. You can spend time reading, trying some creative crafts for adults, or doing an outdoor workout.
Psalm 62:5
“Yes, my soul, find rest in God;
my hope comes from him.”
Father,
I am so grateful that I can find rest in You. Today I’m really feeling worn out, and my anxiety about different things feels as though it is never-ending.
I know Your word says that I should not be anxious about anything, but I must confess, it is hard not to.
In my own strength, and with my own abilities, I can’t help but feel overwhelmed and tense.
But that’s exactly the point isn’t it? In my own weakness, I am reminded of Your strength.
When I can’t do it, and anxiety takes over, I am reminded that it is through relying on Your strength that I can make it through.
How easy it is to forget this simple but wonderful truth.
As the weekend lies ahead, I ask that You would help me to find rest and relaxation today.
Please melt away any fears and anxiety that have been burdening me.
Help me to renew my trust in You, and to fix my eyes on You.
You are where my help comes from, and where I find my strength.
My rest is found in You, and my hope comes from You.
In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.
Prayer for Peace of Mind
Isaiah 26:3
“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast because they trust in you.”
Heavenly Father,
My mind feels so scattered today. There are a million and one things that I am worried about, and it is taking a toll on my body and mind.
I know that worrying about things doesn’t add a single day to my life.
It actually feels like it takes a day away because it robs me of the joy and peace that I could have instead.
The joy and peace that You bring to those who put their trust in You. I know there are many times when I rely on my own understanding and strength.
Please forgive me for those times when I forget to turn to You, and to seek You first. I ask that You remove any anxiety that is within me.
Please replace that anxiety with trust. Trust in Your character, trust in Your faithfulness and trust in Your providence.
Help me to keep my eyes fixed on You, and my mind steadied on You, that I might experience Your perfect peace.
Please grow my trust and make it unwavering.
In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.
Prayer to Spend Your Time Wisely
Ephesians 5:15-17
“Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.”
Dear Lord,
Thank You for showering me with Your grace.
Yet another week is slowly coming to an end, and I can only give You the praise for carrying me through it.
Today I will have more time to myself, and some of my responsibilities can take a backseat until Monday.
I know that the time I have free is not a lot, and that it goes by quickly.
My prayer is that You would show me how to spend my time wisely.
If there are things that aren’t beneficial, or that do more harm than good, I ask that You remove those things from my day.
Help me prioritize time spent with You. I know that my soul needs nourishment, and I can only find that in Your presence.
Keep me from being distracted by the wrong things, or lured into temptations.
Help me to do things that fill me with joy and help me to recharge.
Even as I take time to rest, remind me to be careful of how I spend my time, making the best of the time, and seeking Your will.
Help me to not only seek my own comfort and good today but show me ways that I can serve others and bring joy to their day.
In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.
Prayer for Friends & Family
2 Peter 3:9
“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead, he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
Father,
Thank You for blessing me with my friends and family. I know that You have allowed our paths to cross and placed me in my family for a reason.
My greatest prayer for my friends and family is that they would come to know Christ, and His redeeming love.
I ask that You would show them Your mercy, and lead them in Your truth. Please grant them an understanding of Your word, and save them.
Protect them from the enemy and his schemes. Keep them safe from the deception of the world.
I ask that You would mend any broken relationships and help us all to love one another with the love of Christ.
In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.
