A Prayer Of Hope For The Homeless
Heavenly Father,
As the God of all compassion, I come to You, lifting up every homeless person in this country and in the world. I cannot imagine what they face each day, the anxiety of where their next meal will come from, or whether they will have a safe place to lay their heads at night. I know many homeless people may feel discouraged and forgotten.
But Lord, even when we go about our day, and we overlook those who are in need, You are always aware of them. In Your kindness, I ask that You would remember them today, Lord. I pray that You would lift them up, and even in the midst of their circumstances that You would give them hope. Hope for a new life in Christ, and a new path.
Please surround them with people who are kind and compassionate, who will restore their strength and give them hope. Help them to never give up, and give them hope for a better future. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.
A Prayer For Those Who Hunger
Lord,
I pray for all those who hunger and thirst today. I pray for every homeless person around the world who does not have any means to provide for their daily needs. I ask that You will be their Provider and the one on whom they lean. I pray that the generosity of Your people will increase so that our cities will be transformed.
I ask that You provide them with the food they need to be nourished and strengthened. Please provide clean water to those who are thirsty, so that they may be refreshed and hydrated. Please be with them, and lead us as Your people to care for them in the best ways that we can.
Help us not to turn a blind eye to their suffering, but to be generous whenever the opportunity arises. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.
A Prayer for Homeless Shelters
Father,
I just want to thank You for the hearts of those who have started homeless shelters. It is not easy to see individuals and families living on the street, but it is one thing to only feel compassionate toward them but do nothing, and it is another thing to feel compassion and be led to action.
Today I want to praise You for those who have started various shelters for the homeless. I ask that You encourage them, and grow their hearts even wider. May those who are homeless come in contact with these shelters and find a safe place to rest their heads, and fill their bellies.
In towns where shelters are not functional or there are no shelters at all, I pray that new shelters will be opened and that the homeless will have somewhere to go to for safety. Please guide them to these shelters to find protection against harsh weather and crime.
May they be encouraged and strengthened by those serving them in these shelters, and may the shelters help them to get out of their circumstances. In Jesus’ name, amen.
A Prayer for Salvation
Father in Heaven,
The same Christ who died on the cross for my sins, died for the person who finds themselves homeless today. Whenever I see someone who is homeless, please remind me of this truth. Help me to remember that it is not only their physical circumstances that matter, but also their eternal destiny.
Though we may suffer in life, there is hope in Christ that goes beyond this life. I ask that You would help us not only to share nourishment for their bodies but nourishment for their souls. Please be gracious to the homeless, and open their hearts to know You. I ask that You would bring them to faith in Christ, and send out laborers into Your field.
Please help them to hold onto You for hope. Even as the outer man is perishing, I pray that their inner man will be renewed day by day. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Lord,
I pray for the safety of every man, woman, child or baby that is homeless today. The world around us is filled with danger, and I cannot imagine the fear and uncertainty that these families or individuals live through each day. My prayer is that You would lead them to a place or shelter where they can find protection through the night.
Steer them away from unsafe areas, and protect them against those who desire to cause them harm. I ask that You place Your hedge of protection all around them. Please protect them not only physically, but mentally and spiritually as well. Keep their hearts and minds guarded against the schemes of the enemy.
I pray that they would dwell in the shelter of the Most High, and lean on You as their shield and safety. In Jesus’ name, amen.
A Prayer For A Transformed Life
God,
If it weren’t for You, I don’t know where I would be today. You have changed my heart, and transformed my life. Today I want to pray for those who find themselves homeless, and feeling hopeless. I ask that You would enter their hearts, and transform their lives from the inside out.
I ask that even where they find themselves today, that the gospel would be shared with them and that they would enter into a relationship with You. I pray that You change their hearts, and make Your kingdom their priority. Your word says to seek first Your kingdom then all else shall be added.
This applies to all who are in Christ. Please put an opportunity in front of them that will lead them out of their circumstances and provide them with a job, and a place to stay. May their lives be changed and transformed, and may they become a testament to Your goodness and mercy. In Jesus’ name, amen.
